Dr. Joyce Chen is a hospitalist, or physician who specializes in managing the care of patients within the hospital. Dr. Chen practices at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.  She joined the Division in 2026 and currently serves as an Instructor of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine.  Her interests include quality improvement and patient safety.

Dr. Chen earned her medical degree from California Northstate University College of Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine residency at George Washington University.
