Dr. Maia Tinder is a hospitalist, or physician who specializes in managing the care of patients within the hospital. Dr. Tinder practices at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. She joined the Division in 2026 and currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine. Her interests include medical education, research, med-peds, quality improvement and patient safety.

Dr. Tinder earned her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency at the University of Alabama. She then completed a public health and general preventive medicine fellowship at the University of Maryland.
