Dr. Sampath Bhavana Choppara is a hospitalist, or physician that specializes in managing the care of patients within the hospital. Dr. Choppara practices at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and Good Shepherd Penn Partners. She joined the Division in 2025 and currently serves as an Instructor at the Perelman School of Medicine. In addition to English, she speaks Telugu and Hindi.

Dr. Choppara earned her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine residency at Jefferson Health Northeast in Pennsylvania.
